Suicide Bombers and Soul Winners

The war in Iraq has drawn worldwide attention. Media pundits tried their best to convince us that the Bush Administration was entering a foolish and disastrous battle, which was being waged on a battlefield void of moral authority. The embedded reporters (even from the most liberal sources) have proven Bush correct and the nay Sayers wrong. Remember, there ARE moral absolutes.

In the immediate days following the symbolic toppling of Saddam’s self-promoting statue in central Baghdad, our military troops are facing suicide/homicide bombers. These “dead-enders” are obviously intent on holding on to their doomed existence inside a fatalistic philosophy and worldview. Repeatedly the “Coalition of the willing” has stated that our purpose in the war is for the liberation of the Iraqi people. This will prove, over and over again to be the case. However, many people are asking, “What can we do about these suicide bombers?”

There is a great lesson to be learned by evangelical Christians through this picture. Remember this; “THERE IS NO DEFENSE AGAINST ONE WHO IS WILLING TO GIVE HIS LIFE FOR THE CAUSE.” These men and women, committed to following a demon-led call to a “Jihad” are willing to lay down their life for their cause. Some outsiders are even praising these foolish people for their commitment. It’s interesting to note that none of these “defenders” are praising our military for their commitment. The members of our Armed Forces are daily “laying down their lives” for their beliefs.

The question before us today is this. “WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF ALL CHRISTIANS WERE WILLING TO SHARE THE GOSPEL WITH THIS SAME PASSION OF WILLINGNESS?

As I travel the world I meet Christians who say they are simply “too afraid” to share their faith with others. Of what are you afraid? Are you afraid of rejection? Are you afraid of what others will say? Are you afraid of failure?

The message of Jesus Christ is the ONLY hope for the world! Everybody, everywhere needs to hear the Gospel. There are literally hundreds of people in your circle of influence who are looking to you to share the Gospel with them.

The end result for the suicide bombers is undoubtedly an eternity in Hell. This is the same, potential result facing all your friends, with whom you have never shared the Gospel. Have courage for; “Greater is He that is in you, than he who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4).
